Hi All,
I have written a little POP3 Email client to retrieve mail from an email address, with the intention of pulling mail, parsing it and logging it in a DB. Problem is, the mail retrieval comes through MIME mail encoded (Text), The emails are multipart and I therefore need to consolidate the email in a format where I can display the HTML and any attatchments. Short of rewriting the MIME RFC specs does anyone know of a way I can get the mail into a parsable format. Or better still store the info in the .NET System.Web.Mail.MailSessage format.
Any Help???
Thanx
Greg

Hi I have a web page and was hoping to change the icon in the address bar for it. Its that little webpage default icon before the webpage address. What type of file does it need to be and what size should it be? Do you simply change the icon for the page and then reupload it to the server? Thanks for anyhelp, sorry if this was a stupid question.

I'm an html writer and I want to know if there's a way that I can do some sort of text replacement without using frames/iframes.
For example, let's say I want a menu on every page, if I update that menu, then I have to update every page. Is there a way to say, put the code for the menu in a separate file and load it for multiple html pages.
Anything will do. HTML, CSS, PHP, whatever, so long as I can research the technique.
Thanks

ASP and PHP support a feature called include. This inlines a seperate text file into your code. Here is the ASP syntax <!--#include file="fileToinclude.asp"-->
Here is a CP article on it.
Google will have plenty of info for you as well.

Hi,
I am currently designing a website, and I require to have two different size pop up windows.
I have a fairly basic knowledge of Java, a very basic script would suit me! Just as long as it works.

You would use JavaScript and the window.open method.
Here is an article on it.

Send an email using ASP By Fernando Finelli right here on CP. It may not have the highest rating but it tells you the basics.
And if you don't have access to server-side processing on your webspace then all you can do is include a mailto:test@domain.com link on your site.

Is there a way I can get the actual url that a web browser loads when making a jsp call to document.formname.submit(), as sometimes the actual URL is not shown in the browser?
Thank you,
K

In your client-side JScript you could use:
document.URL
and in your server-side JSP you have:
.getRequestURI()
Hope this helps,
Lee.

Hi
How to print an Organisation Chart (Tree Structure)
I want to print an Organisation Chart which is more like an Inverted Tree Structure.
Like that with proper Lines. I could find ready tools for Explorer Type of Tree Structure (similar to windows Explorer). But i want an inverted tree structure like above one.

I tried so many times to use paging as well as deletion pf records in a data grid .But when i click on paging numbers the ItemCommand event is fired instead of PageIndexChanged event.
The ItemCommand event is meant for deletion where as PageIndexChanged event is meant for paging of datagrid.
I want an application where two recors will be displayed with delete buttons for each record.There will be paging numbers to navigate to other records in the dataset .

Hi Satyajit,
The ItemCommand event fires pretty much whenever anything happens inside a Datagrid, so you'll want to trap for CommandName. Only process your Delete logic when the CommandName is "Delete". Is the PageIndexChanged event not also being fired?

Hi, I'm using Visual Studio to create dynamic web enabled database systems for work. The problem is they want me to use HTML tables soley so if somebody re-sizes their browser, the content will adjust in size with it as opposed to if you drag and drop controls on the form from the toolbox, it will not. It takes a lot of extra effort to create these tables and place the controls in them because you have to do it manually with raw HTML code. If you drag and drop a table in Visual Studio, it gives it coordinates etc. Am I doing this the hard way??? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
CB

You change the layout from in Visual Studio from default Grid Layout to Flow Layout using the Property browser so that everything you design will be in the tables.

Is there a round down function in asp. Can't seem find this function?
Any such function freely available out there?
Best Rgds,
Nickson
|
|
|
|

Hi Nickson,
Try:
MyNum = Int(number)
or
MyNum = Fix(number)
whichever is appropriate. This function returns the integer part of the number (in otherwords a round down)
Hope this helps,
Andy

I have an HTML frameset with 2 frames.
frame1 has a form which launches a cgi .exe program targeted to frame 2:
<form name="zzzz" action="http://zzzz/CGI.exe" target="CGIframe" method="POST">
cgi.exe writes this HTML to frame2:
<HTML><BODY>
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="VBScript">
Top.frame1.document.form1.button1.Value = "WHATEVER"
</BODY>
</HTML>
I get an "Access is Denied" error.
BUT!
if I that exact same HTML in a file, and have the frame1 form launch it instead of cgi.exe,
IT WORKS OK! to wit:
<form name="zzzz" action="http://zzzz/debugit.html" target="CGIframe" method="POST">
WHY is access denied if the html comes from a cgi program but NOT if it comes from a file?

Yes, they are side by side in the same directory on the same server.
I was ultimately successful by using method="get", rather than "post", with the cgi.exe. Why the hey would that make a difference in cross-frame accessibility???

Hi!
How can I make a table that has its cell separated by one-pixel lines? I only managed it to draw 2-pixel lines (1px-borders for each cell) but somehow couldn't get 1px lines work...
Can you give me a CSS definition for TABLE and TD to do this?
Thanks in advance and best regards,
Dominik
_outp(0x64, 0xAD);
and
__asm mov al, 0xAD __asm out 0x64, al
do the same... but what do they do??
(doesn't work on NT)

Use padding or margin on your td elements to get the exact spacing you want. Remember that margin is outside border while padding is inside.
