I'd like to see some code for doing antialiased lines, polygons, etc., preferably using only GDI. OpenGL and/or DirectX methods would be good too, as long as they are simple and compatible with GDI-based apps

Please send me a link/code piece or full source how can I grab the whole desktop into memory?
I implemented a code what can get the desktop image to memory and it can grab about 2-3 times a second. (awful slow.) I'd like to grab all sizes of desktop and any colors.
(VC++, noMFC, WinNT4.0 SP6, source:1024x768x32, in memory 1 pixel=3bytes RGB and 1 empty byte)
Please reply me if only if you have faster solutions!!!

You'll need to handle the WM_NCPAINT message, and draw the title bar when that message arrives.

Very simple -- use the Win32 API CreateProcess() in the button's OnClick() method. CreateProcess() is fully
documented in MSDN -- either on-line with your MSVC 6 compiler, or go to www.msdn.microsoft.com

I would like to see some C++/MFC code that displays an XMLdocument, using the windows IE control. The trick (I think) is that I'd like to use an xsl file to format the data, but just use an IStream to hold the actual XML, rather than a file. I don't think this should be too hard, but I cannot find any examples that use a single application (ie no client server) and a stream, rather than a file for the XML.
Thanks,
|

What I have done is use the CMemFile class and read my data in from a HTTP or FTP stream. I then send that "file" to be processed. I have not used the IE control.

|
|
My problem is connecting the memory object (IStream, I thought, but a CMemFile may be as good, or better) with the xml object (I guess you can use the DOM stuff)and the IE object. I know little/nothing about the available functionality of IE and DOM, except for a quick flick through the documentation. I was hoping some one knew (and had used?) the stuff and could point me in the correct direction.

Hi,
I'm working on writing a text file viewer. Currently in MFC 6.0. It needs to be able to open text files of any size, so can't load it all into RAM at once. If someone has this written already, that would be helpful. I need to be able to adapt it to other file types in the future, but right now just getting it to view (and scroll) a single file of unlimited size is a start.
Thanks for any help.

MSDN contains a free version of MS WordPad with source as an example program. It should be on your MSDN
CD or you can probably download it from www.msdn.microsoft.com.

When installing applications under Windows NT Terminal Server you need to switch the operating system into install mode to ensure all registry settings are replicated out for all users. This can be done from the command line using the command 'change user /install'. The MSDN document that explains this also claims that this can be done progmmatically but doesn't explain how. Does anybody know the Win32 API call to use or registry key to set to acheive this.

Hello,
I've downloaded and used the BandObjs MSDN sample which shows how to create an Explorer Bar.
However, what the sample fails to show is how to communicate between the Explorer Bar and Internet Explorer itself.
What I need to know how to do is the following:
1. When the user enters a new address or clicks on a Favorite, I need my Explorer Bar to know what the new address is.
2. I would like to also be able to *Set* the address of the Browser (IOW "goto" a new website in the same browser window that my Explorer Bar resides).
Thanks much for any articles or help.

You do that by setting up an event handler and listen for "document complete" etc events...
To set a new URL, you use the IWebBrowser2 interface, or even the DHTML Object model (DOM) it exposes.
You get the browser interface passed in the IObjectWithSite::SetSite call.
For a sample of an ATL implementation of an IE Desk band, look at my site:
http://www.viksoe.dk under "ATL, Projects".

I need an article which will help me to be
notified before files are deleted. Someone
in comp.os.ms-windows.programmer.win32 said
I need to write a device driver to do that.
I really don't know where to start, I have
never touched this subject before.
