Hi,
I am developing a MDI application which has some graphics in its child windows. Now i want to refresh all child windows from one child where i take user input for color change for all child window background and font setting.
The change is getting affected if i minimize and then maximize whole application.
Can some one suggest on this.

I have been looking for a good team scheduling software and it just plain doesn't seem to exist to meet what I need.
We are currently using MS Project only because it half-way does what I want.
I schedule currently 30 people for various projects (all different clients) all within the same week. We are a fast paced team and must be flexible in our schedule.
Our needs are basically... I need an easy, fast tool that will allow me to schedule, track and assign a project. I use a Gaant chart to view the projects and team members so I can see who is available at any given time. Currently, with MSProject, the only way to do this is using the Gaant chart and assign each team member as a "Major Task" and each project as a "Sub-Task". Then once the projects are completed, I move the project into another "Sub-Task" and make it a sub of the "Completed Projects". This allows me to keep all old projects from cluttering up the schedule.
There are several issues with this setup. It's very easy to accidentally move something. It doesn't allow for proper sorting of projects. I can't report well at all (not a major issue but would be nice). And although it is faster than my other methods, it is not what I want.

I've spent the last few years building content management systems for small to medium sized websites, and have recently been using a stable system I spent the last 18 months building by myself. I have a lot of ideas about what I'd do differently next time, what I'd like to keep and what I'd discard, etc, and what new ideas I'd like to implement if this time it was built entirely using C# and .Net. The current system uses ASP, VBScript, JScript, etc.
The thing is, I've learned from having already written over 40,000 lines of code in the current system, that this is a big job for just one person. So I've been putting my ideas down into a word document and trying to work out how I can get some help on this new project. So here I am, probing for interest!
I am particular interested in people who have a strong command over C# and the .Net framework, and are into writing clean, efficient, modularised and well abstracted code.

I have a project I want to undertake and it will be my first. I am a computer science graduate with minimal project experience. Any individual with any related skill or anyone who wants to participate in a project is welcome.
My goal for this project is to automate the data entry process used by a company I work for. I will be happy to provide more detailed explanation to interested individuals.
Overview: The work flow is as follows..
1. required information are highlighted on .tif documents by a set of employees. The highlights are color coded depending on the information. This document contain real estate deeds etc.
2. The highlighted document are then entered manually into related color related fields by another set of employees using a data entry software. The entered data is stored in a database (SQL Server).
I think the data entry process (#2) can be simplified by having a program read the highlighted field and transfer or write the information to the related colored field or database.
Of course, there are some rules on how the entries are made. Also, the highlighted document can be sloppy so the program has to be good enough to read the data with high accuracy. The program should be able to
1. read the color highlighted area
2. write it to a database or field
3. business rules will be implemented further as needed
I hope I make a little bit of sense to enable you all ask questions. I will be happy to explain further to interested individuals.
I will appreciate also if you can provide me with the best tools to accomplish this task.

I am making a program mostly for fun, but I will be giving it away for free. It basically is a programming language, but instead of being yet another new "perfect" one, it will be the same as QBasic, making it easy to program in, but be extremely powerful too. I am basically trying to eliminate all the problems with QBasic.
It will be really helpful if you know QBasic, but even if you don't, if you are willing, I could give you a copy of QBasic and some sample programs and you could write the compiler part of the program. You'll need to know asm for that.
QBasic 7.5 Project Description:
1. Mimic QBasic's user interface exactly (except the available commands in the menus).
2. Handle old .BAS files.
3. Be able to do everything QBasic can do.
4. Be WAY faster than QBasic.
5. Support multi-threading.
6. Have many extra useful functions.
7. (MAYBE) Working with the modem.
8. Support MORE, bigger screen modes and up to 24-bit color.
9. COLOR can set the background of more screen modes.
9. Buffer-flipping for all/just graphics screen modes.
10. Functions can return user-defined types.
11. Classes in QBasic syntax if you set the option in settings.
(I might not do this at all and just do the QBasic part of this.)
Allow the user to either program in pure QBasic 1.0 (Hopefully 4.5 and 7.1 too), a mix of QBasic and C++, or purely C++. It will obviously default to pure QBasic since it is suppose to basically end up being QBasic 10.0.
I'M REALLY HOPING TO GET SOMEONE ELSE TO HELP ME MAKE THIS PROGRAM. I now have the architecture setup to the point where I could use the help of 3 other programmers. So, if you are interested, plz let me know now. This program will be written in C++ but a lot will require that you know QBasic well, hopefully inside out.
Those I'm really hoping will reply are the forum regulars, but with others included:
Mac, The Bob, Alipha (isn't he gone for good now?), Solitaire, lkt153, Earthborn, Ildurest, ShadowWolf (you said you are already working on a converter), CIRCLE (depending on how much you know of QBasic), and maybe Mississippi (I have no idea about your skills/you, just noticed you've been here a while).
Unfortunately, you have to know C++ too. (Not MFC)
Perhaps you know someone who would like to help or a site that you think would have people interested in both C++ and QBasic?
VERY IMPORTANT: A QBasic programmer would still feel like he is in QBasic. (This will mostly be due to the Interface, meaning I will be required to uphold this mostly, unless you really want to help with the interface.)

I am a technical advisor and consultant who manages many machines at many differant locations.
I am seeking information about developing a Microsoft Windows Patch Managment system. There are a few programs out there, but none will work in the sort of enviroment I have to work with.
I have an agent in development that sits on the user machine. (it performs eventlog monitoring and other functions and reports it back to my web service) What I would like the ability to is integrade a way to check if the local machine is up to par with critical updates, and then report that back to my web service.
I am guessing I would have to take a snapshot of what windows version and updates are already there and then compare them to some dynamic reference file containing all the appropriate updates...
Ahhh I'll step back and see if anyone has some experience in this.

Dat zijn teams waarvan de leden samen werken op verschillende tijdstippen en plaatsen los van hun vaste positie binnen hun organisatie. Ik ben geïnteresseerd in de manier waarop taken verdeeld worden in een virtueel team dat aan software-ontwikkeling doet.
Als u aan de beschrijving voldoet, en dus in een virtueel team werkt, kan u meewerken aan het onderzoek. U mag de vragenlijst meermaals invullen indien u in meerdere teams meewerkt.
Het invullen van de vragenlijst duurt maar 5 minuten tijd. De informatie die u meedeelt in het onderzoek wordt vertrouwelijk behandeld. U kiest zelf of u al dan niet meewerkt aan het websurvey. U moet alleen u e-mail adres invullen op het survey indien ik u nog verder mag raadplegen in verband met mijn onderzoek.
Het onderzoek wordt uigevoerd aan de KULeuven, departement Sociologie, afdeling Arbeids- en Organisatiesociologie in het kader van mijn eindverhandeling.

A non-disclosure form would be required to be signed after your physical identity and location can be verified. For legal reasons, this is limited to people residing in the USA and legally allowed to work in the USA.
I am offering 20% of the gross revenues until 1 year after the app has sold 100 copies in a single month (estimated unit cost would be $150), payable monthly and reportable via the standard IRS 1099.
You would be expected to be available for upgrades, bug fixes, etc. as part of the contract agreement.

Recently I've developed an idea for a new streaming music app using P2P technology. I've been recently exploring the concept and think it might have some commercial applications.
Basically, I'd like to develop a program similar to Streamcast and Allcast. There would be some big technical differences in how those P2P structures are organized and the P2P app I envision. Also, I've been working on an economic model to make this app commercially viable. I've been in consultation with several economic professors at different universities to discuss it's viability, and I've gotten some interesting feedback. My goal is for over the next few months to assemble a few partners and take a stab at building a bare bones prototype. Then, if we have a viable proof in concept, we could try to take it to the next logical steps. Maybe doing a trial run on a campus like Michigan State or the University of Delaware.
Unfortunately, I don't have the skill set to develop a prototype on my own. I'm an Electrical Engineering Grad from the University of Delaware with a Minor in Computer Science. My programming skills include C, C++, Java, Javascript, and HTML. But it's been a couple years and I'm rusty. Not to mention, while I've done a little C# and can pick things up quickly, to do something on this detail will require me learning much of the newer languages on the fly. As for coding environment, I haven't really decided yet. I'm leaning toweards C# and Java, because at least I know that somewhat.
If there's any interest drop me a line and I'll explain the program idea in detail.

My iPic project is an application that will create graph presentations. It's for personal projects and allow business person(s) to create a visualization for others to understand further as to what they are trying to explain/create. It's designed for pretty much anybody, a student can use it for a school project, buessiness people can use it for exchanging ideas for new products/sales. It's going to use all the features Windows XP can get, such as XP-theme easy to use user interface and the windows registry.
