Hi,
I am still new in the programming world. I would like to learn how to design a report, and fill its data from programming part, the data of course is take from database (Access Or SQL)
Last time i ask my friend they said , they usually use ttx file to create the field in the report. So, then we store the data from programming part, said from query, i try to do the same thing using C#.NET but it can't work.
Please I need your help.

Here's the fast way of creating a report...
- Create a typed dataset
- Add a crystal report file to your project
- As a datasource select ADO.net and navigate to the dataset. Complete the wizard selecting any fields that you need to use
- Save any changes to the crystal report
- Crystal reports generates a typed wrapper for the report. Create an instance of that class.
MyReport r = new Report();
- Fill your dataset
- Pass the data into the the report object by doing this...
r.SetDataSource(dataset);
- add a crystal report viewer control to you form
- passed the report object to the view control
crystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = r;

Can anybody tell me here, how i can use StoredProcedures in a SQL Server CE Database? - Do the storedProcedures which i create in my VS.NET for my Smart Device Application automatically be transfered to the PocketPc when i will deploy it?

SQL CE does not support stored procedures.

Oh okay, are you sure? - because when i create a new replication i can choose to publish also the stored procedures??
Unfortunately i have a second question: Is it possible like normal databases of the SQL Server 2000 to create databases, tables in the Server Explorer of the VS.NET. Is it possible to create databases for the SQL Server CE also like this in VS.NET??

You will be able to do that with SQL Mobile, not with SQL CE 2.0. To help with this, I have developed a tool to help port databases to and from SQL CE. Have a look at it on my website:

Usually this type of question goes purposely unanswered cuz its so easy to find the solution, but i'll give it to you...
System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("C:\windows\notepad.exe");

As AK suggested, you can just do a call to the process object:
System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(@"C:\windows\notepad.exe");
But, I'd suggest you rather "start" the file directly:
System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(@"C:\test.txt");
This way, the default text editor will be started with the file.
It saves a bit of code as you don't need to set up parameters to pass to the process, but it also gets around a issue when the admins install windows under a different folder or something similar.

Passwords are not really ment to be given out anyway... so your probably going to have a hard time to get them... unless there's a security bug.

Are your clients connecting to a SQL server, or a custom implementation for some application? What is the server that the clients are connecting to?

Well i'll try to help you out. Some applications are designed very weak. You might be able to find a table with a list of user names and passwords.
That's if the default sql login was not used.

Is there anyway for me to update a client app about how fast the download is going, how far along it is, using .Net remoting. I know when i used sockets, i could detect how large the file wise and divide by the currently downloaded bytes *to get the current download percent* is there a way to do this in Remoting, since the bytes and underlying information is *seemingly* hidden.

Remoting is intended to be a replacement for DCOM. As such it supports remote method calls but it is not intended for downloading files. That is why the data is 'seemingly hidden'.

i want to set an event handler for AfterCheck on my treeview.
i found this piece of code but am not sure how to set the name
of the event.
what is supposed to go in place of the word "node" in node_AfterCheck

Basically, an event handler is just a function with specific parameters.
The thing that makes an event handler different, is when it's actually hooked up to an event on an object.
So, your node_AfterCheck is a function that isn't hooked up to anything.
Typically, the event handler is prefixed with the object's name.
To hook this up to a treeview called treeView1, do this:
this.treeView1.AfterCheck += new System.Windows.Forms.TreeViewEventHandler(this.treeView1_AfterCheck);
The easier way of doing this, is to double click the event you want in the object's properties window. This will automatically create the delegate assigning code as well as the stub method code.

I put the line in the Form1 constructor. is there a better place to put
it?
also i first tried to take your advice:

when i look at the the object's properties window (TreeView)
there is no event for AfterCheck. i couldn't find any events to select at all.
i see DataBindings,DynamicProperties,Name, AccessibleDescription...etc.
When i double click the object i get tvMenu_AfterSelect event
What am i missing?

In the design view of a form, double clicking an object will create the stub code for a default event that MS had in mind for the control.
eg: if you double click a form, the myForm_Load() event will be created for you.
When looking at the properties window for a treeview (in C#) select the small lightning bolt icon just below the object dropdown box at the top.
This switches the properties window into a "event listing" for the selected object.
Now you should be able to see the "AfterCheck" event under the behavior heading.
