i mean when you give different names to full, tlog, differential how to find whether it is full, tlog, diffferential

Doh! Presumably because you've named them in such a way as to be able to tell, at a glance, what type of backup they are? Perhaps like: backup.full.20100810.bak, backup.log.20100810.bak, backup.diff.20100810.bak or similar.

i am asking that if we are specifying the name like full in naming like first.bak, second.bak, third.bak. how to find which is full and tlog and differential.
