I asked this question on StackOverFlow and I got the answer but now I am a little confused about why the TryUpdateModel does not accept model which has fields instead of properties!!!

Solution 1

as the definition Of TryUpdateModel suggests---
"Updates the specified model instance using values from the controller's current value provider".
Hope u got the answer
