Control Image displayed by boolean variable

I need to control icons displayed(on several grids) by the values of Boolean expressions(e.g. false = Red Icon), set by external data. I have looked into converters, but am having issues trying to bind my Boolean variable to the image displayed.
Is this the best way to accomplish my task? If not what is a better recommendation?
