Hi
I installed SQL server 2008 and then 2012 , when I tried to create new DB in SQL server 2012, it creates DB in Sql server 2008 default path.

May be because of the instance created for 2012 is not correct.

So I uninstalled Sql server 2012.

Now when I tried to install SQL server 2012 - 64 bit again, installation file is not running. When I clicked New Sql server Stand alone , it is not working, just checking for product update and it is coming back to New sql server stand alone installation window.

Thanks

First of all, the database is created where you define it will be created. If you create the database using SSMS, you have to option to define the path where the files are. The same applies if you create the database using SQL command, you can define the path for the file and so on.

What comes to the installation, I'd try the following sequence in your situation
- Using Control Panel ensure that all 2012 installations are gone, uninstall if any found
- run a repair for 2008 installation and ensure it works
- run the installation for 2012
And remember to reboot between the steps.
