Hi, How to automatically create a desktop shortcut with icon of choice during installation of exe of windows application
Posted

Create your .ico (Paint can do this).

You have to convert the .jpg to .ico using a program that can do it.

You can't convert a .pdf to a .ico because .pdf isn't an image file.
(Check this, it may be possible).

Try IrfanView - it's free and it's great.

That should help you.

Then save this to the icon file and use the control panel to reallocate the new icon to the file/app.

While creating setup..
1.Add primary output.
2.Right click on it and create shortcut to desktop.
3.Add .ico file to application folder.
4.Set icon property using properties of shortcut you have created.
5. Drag Shortcut file and drop in User's Desktop folder.

that's it....

hope it helps
