How to create group in asp.net where users can join and you can message users?

Hello Programmers, please help me with this question because i have been battling like a month now to create an application with this kind of feature.

First, i learned ASP.NET on my own for three months which was not very funny. Now, i have a project that i can't complete because i don't know how to go about it.

HERE IS THE SCENERIO:

You log into the site and you will be asked to choose from the suggested Groups and if you don't like any of the group, you can search for a group by entering the name in the search box.

If you don't see the group you are looking for, you then create a new group and it automatically adds to the list of groups.

So, in general, its just like the Facebook group........... where you see list of users, message them or send friend request.

Please, you great programmers, help me on this one.

Help with what ?
As I assume, this a homework; it won't entertained here.
If you expect us to do your homework, that's not going to work. There's a pretty good reason behind this: "You won't be learn anything, if you expect others do your work for you".

You can try something on your own at first and when you stuck anywhere, anyone from here would do his/her best to help you out. But don't directly ask for the source code.
