Hi,

someone just introduced me with a chrome extension that can be added and then after it is added, it will allow users to show password!

showpassword is the extension and when enabled, you only need to hover over the text-box of the password so it will change from ***** to 12345!

is there a way to disable that? I am sure since this can be done, there should be a code to disable it!

Thanks,

If the user wants to install this then that's up to them, you can't disable browser extensions from your code otherwise there would be no real point to them. Also it's only showing what they've typed in themselves so it doesn't really matter.

The problem is if they typed that password and we for the rest room and left the laptop open (work environment), then it is a risk, is there a logic view of how to solve this issue!

You can't code for stupid users. People give their passwords to scammers every day, that's life. If someone wants to enter their password in a crowded environment then walk away from the laptop leaving it unlocked and available to others then you deserve to have your account hacked.

No, there is no code you can write to protect against stupid. If the users are going to be careless with their machines the only real solution is education of the users, not code.

My 5. Not only you cannot code for the stupid; you cannot answer a question the way that anyone understands it and gets convinced. :-)
