my goal is to create a video player API that it should be able to play a file in computer
while developing the API iam using the functions in Awesome player which is a underlying wrapper for stagefright player which is a multimedia framework in Android
to stream multimedia files
iam not getting which function will be responsible for doing the decoding part in Awesomeplayer
can any one who know about this help me to sort it out

Talk to the people who created "Awesome player" or "Stagefright player" - they may have API hooks into their software, but if they don't then you can't rely on anything staying the same in the next version even if you do work it out from scratch.

Asking random people on the internet isn't going to get you info you want as quickly or accurately as asking the authors directly!
