Are you asking if "graphic similarity measure and visualization" the same as "comparison of two images and visualization"? In what sense? Are you asking if functionality they are the same? or does the sentence mean the same?

If you thinking doing this project, then of course you will need some sort of algorithm. That would be decided by you based on your requirements, needs and wants.
