How do I change sender number to text (alpha numeric) with GSMCOMM Library so that if I send a text with the library, the recipient will read as message from say "ABC School" instead of the phone number

What I have tried:

I can send and receive messages

Surely the recipient would have to have the number on their phone for it to show that text?

Simple. You don't.

You have no control over that. The recipient will always get the phone number of the sender, not a text representation of it. It's up to the recipient to add the number in their contacts list and assign their own name to it. That's the only way it's going to come up with any name at all.

GSMCOMM doesn't expose any method to do it and you're not a phone provider.

do you know of any library that can do that?

No, otherwise I would have posted it.

I can see a glaring reason why nobody would support it. It would be too easily abused by spammers and scammers.
