How do I track my position on a map using gps?

i am using visual basic express 2010. i am also a newbie on this field. here is a thing that i want to do.
i want to create a window application that track my live position using gps. i receive a data position from a gps then i put it inside a text box. from that data i want to view my live position on a map. it is like google maps app on phone but it does not show me a route to follow.
please help me. thank you.

but i cant seem to run the project that i download from the codeplex. hence, i cant use the Google.Api.Maps.Service.dll
