Hi..

I'm a beginner in vb.net.. I hope I'll find the solution here how to create (step by step) packaging (setup/installer) visual studio 2008 project with microsoft sql server 2005 express..

I have done all things in a windows application, the database that I used is the microsoft sql server 2005 express, this is working at the computer that i used and the problem is when it comes to building installation that i've done.. in the computer that i used to build the system.. when I install it to other computers I'd get an error

SQL
unhandled exception has occured in your application. if you click continue, the application will ignore this error and attempts to continue. if you click quit, the application will close immediately
an error has occured while establishing a connection to the server when connecting to sql server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings sql server does not allow remote connetions. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error:26 - error locating server/instances specified)

Have you verified if the suggested cause is in fact true? It may be but I suspect not.

My suspicions tend toward an incorrect connection-string. Are you able to test the connection string on the computer you are trying to install on? Maybe write a very simple program that just connects, opens, closes and exits.
