Start, stop, restart a desktop app from a website

I want to be able to start,stop and restart a desktop application(that is on my server computer) from my website, how would I go about setting this up?

What I have tried:

Unsure what to try, that is why I am asking here for some help

Why wouldn't you use a remote desktop client like TeamViewer[^]?

Why? The only way this will ever work, and not the way you're expecting!, is if the desktop app is running on the web server. You can stop the app easily enough but restarting it is a bit of a problem.

The app can be started but it will not be visible on the desktop of whoever happens to be, or logs into in the future, the server console.

If that's not what you're talking about, you absolutely can NOT stop or start an application on a desktop or other server from the web server.
