What I have tried:

I have tried some solutions from stackoverflow (https://stackoverflow.com/questions/24881640/why-does-ie-ie8-specifically-not-highlight-selected-option-in-a-multi-select) . But it's not working for me . Thanks in advance

Sounds like they changed the code in IE9 and above. What exactly are you wanting from us?

What i want is , is there any solutions available to achieve that feature in IE8. ?
Because its a BFSI project & we provide browser support from IE8 onwards..

You might wish to check a site that give you browser versions for when different features were implemented. IE8 has very poor support for HTML5 and CSS3.

So the search you need to do is HTML/CSS compatibility and browser versions.
For example: CSS3 Reference[^] and other locations within this website

or test your browser's compatibility here: HTML5test - How well does your browser support HTML5?[^] and open the link within various browsers yo may have.
