Grey out parent page in asp.net

Hi,
I want to blackout the screen and open a new screen where i will be able to display some data.

Eg:
goto hostingseva.com and click on howto pay.

A new dialog box/page appears on the screen and previous screen gets black out..

I don't know what it is exactly called...
Ajax or javascript will do!
