Hi everybody,

When I try to change the name of page class, this message appears:

Failed to find definition

As an example, I get this error if I try and change the page class name from:

public partial class _Default : System.Web.UI.Page

to:
public partial class _HomePage: System.Web.UI.Page

The 'silly question' in my reply meant that it was me that was asking the silly question, not you.

It is a common expression in English. It means "It is silly of me to ask since I am sure that you have already tried this."

I do indeed remember the 'hobby/career' remark, although I do not remember the hahahahaha part. It was terse, abrupt even, but given the context, I do not consider that that was impolite either.

I shall continue to try to answer any questions from you, if I feel I am able to help. You will just have to try to get used to my blunt manner. :)

Do not worry about your blunt mannar but try to be always answer for me .

After a quick google it would seem that you are not alone. (searched on 'Failed to find definition')

In all cases that I looked at MS marked the thread 'Resolved as not reproducible'.

Silly question, but I assume that you have tried the usual:

Open a different project, reopen problem one and try again.
Close VS, reopen and try again.

In fact, it is not my true question.
I have big problem in my web project and i feel that it is not form the code but from VS 2005 .
So, i asked that question to be sure that i need to setup of VS 2008 or 2010.
But, i always notes that your words is not polite at all,
like: Silly question and get a new hobby/career.
It is not fault that i am beginner in programming.
I do not speak English good but i hope you to be more Polite please
Thanks
A quick google reveals that this has been occasionally observed with VS 2005. The workaround offered by some people (not verified to always work) is to close and restart VS 2005.

It took you roughly 20 minutes to falsely accuse me of being impolite.

In spite of my having explained why I was not being rude over 40 minutes ago, I have not yet received your apology.

Now that is impolite.

Sorroy, I was away from my computer.
In fact, i was not expected that you would reply me.
Now i am sure that you are very very Polite man.
But the reason that push me to say that words is that "get a new hobby/career" hahahaha ( are you remember it ).
Not at all man , i am just joking with you .
Now i am feeling shaming from you and i hope that i gained new good friend on codeproject
have a nice day and thank you
