Running c# from a browser

I am curious if it's possible to have a browser run c# code. For instance be able to write code in a textbox and then run the code just in like a virtual state or something. I just had an idea I wanted to play around with and really just want to know if it's possible or not. I've tried searching around but am not able to find any answers so I'd thought I'd ~~ass~~ ask the professionals.
