The basic steps are:
1. Click the Tools menu in the browser.
2. Select Internet Options .
3. Click the General tab.
4. In the Home page section, enter http://www.google.com in the text box.
Click OK.


But if the home page section is completely disabled how can I proceed?

Then you need to talk to your administrator or get administrative privileges in order to make such change.

Sounds like you are trying to do this in your office environment.

Just a thought, right click IE icon and check if you can get to use 'Run as administrator' open or not. If so, use it.

No, there is no such 'Run as administrator' found.
