SDRAM address decoding for ROW and column w.r.t LPC2478

Please guide me how LPC2478 EMC controller converts address to ROW and column address for SDRAM.
Also guide me If i want to write SDRAM MODE register 0x22 do i ahve to shift it orr directly can orr with SDRAM base address.
If i have to shift it than how many place. Will it depend on number of row or column bits???
Please explain me
