Hi I wanted to create a Questionaire application which is a web survey application kind for an online shopping cart site. I need to create an estimate for the tasks. Can you please help me to provide a sample estimate plan for a questionaire or web survey kind of application. Thanks for your help.

Do you really think that it can be generalized?

Further, estimation is something which would vary from person to person.

My suggestions:
1. Collate the features of your application - How many questions, screens, workflow, etc
2. Divide your project into small parts that they can be considered one complete small task
3. Estimate the task time and work as per you & the developer's knowledge.
4. Keep some buffer for the planned work to handle some missed/unforseen feature/trouble
5. Keep some time for re-work

I guess, for a start this must be enough. Try!

The checklist is pretty reasonable, my 5. I did not realize the answer could be like this. Probably you already saw mine...

"Probably you already saw mine..."
?

Reading just now.
Impossible. The less you're confident about the time estimate, the more the real time expected to complete the task. For example, if you say "I have no idea at all how much time I need", an estimate with reasonably good validity would be "forever" :-).

CodeProject members are just wrong people for estimates like that. Someone who has an idea of the developer's skills can only give such estimate. I usually know pretty good answer after a developer completes first assignment, after all reviews and fixes. A common idea of the difference in performance of difference developers is: about 10 times. (I don't count those unable to complete the work.)
