problems in attaching css tmplate to the already master page in asp.net

hi iam yogesh and i have created a small web site (the same in which we are logged in i;e on forums )but it doesn't have attractive looks so i need to attach a css template to the master page. and in my content page i am generating many dynamic controls(link buttons to show question asked by all users). now when i am attaching a css template and running it, all the dynamically generated controls are displayed from the top of page even on the header(which must be distinct). And another problem is that the footer is being displayed immediately after the header. and the controls are overwriting the header and footer. so please give me the step by step method overcome these problems with example of master pages with attached templates.
