Implement SSO (Single Sign On) on SharePoint 2010

There are multiple web applications on my SharePoint Server with configuration of LDAP. Now I need to implement SSO (Single Sign On). I have googled and come to know that in SharePoint 2010 SSO is now identify as SSS (Secure Store Service). My SharePoint Server is configured on Windows 2008 r2 and Sql Server 2008 r2. I don’t know whether it is possible or not.

Any help on this, greatly appreciated
