How to find Client Local Path from an .aspx Page

hi,

In my Asp.Net application i need to save an report(Crystal) to the Client disk on some location like "D:\Sales.xls"

While i specify this path its just save on Server's location on "D:\\Sales.xls".

How to find Client machine local Path to save an file ??

Solution 1

You can't. Security will not allow you to know any such information about the client, even by default. When your client downlaods the file, he decides where it is saved, not you.

So i need to save that "Excel" file in Server initially and then let him download from server ?? !!
