how to check the excel file length

I'm trying to import the datas from excel to sql and if the datas are not available in excel file (ie) if the excel sheet is empty, it should display as "No datas are available in the selected file" when i click the upload button. Can anyone help me to find the length of the excel before it gets imported to sql. Thanks in advance.

By size you can not predict your excel file is empty or not.
