How can i find file web.config

In the properties of default web site of IIS 5.1 ASP.NET version tag is 4.0.30319 and file location is c:\inetpub\wwwroot\web.config but there is no web.config file in this path.

Each web application will have its own web.config file. If, by some reason, that file has been deleted or has not been deployed the asp.net engine will use the machine.config file. It will also use this file for configuration settings not specified in the web.config file in the web application or folder.
