MSXML.dll fails to register

Hi,

I am a beginner. I have an application which is MS-office Add-in integrated into C# practice management software. I am trying to set it up in win XP SP3 having MS Office 2007. When I try to install this msg pops up : msxml5.dll failed to register. HRESULT - 2147023782

I tried to manually register with regsvr32 but even this pops out an error like loadlibrary <path> failed-A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed.

What should be the next step to solve this problem?I am stuck and do not have any idea on how to proceed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Solution 1

Msxml5 is outdated and may have been upgraded to msxml6 on this system. Varify the versions.
