Hi,

Currently we're on a Maintenance project.

Every release has a bunch of requests from clients. All requests are placed through HP-Mercury QC software at Onsite.

Here at Offshore, we read them, analyze them and convert them to MRS (Maintenance Requirement Specification) document on Microsoft WORD. This is followed by all phases of the Waterfall model.

DISCOMFORT: All data is maintained through Word or Excel. Let's say we want to see all requests part of 1.0.0 release, we need to go that MRS and manually sift through. Or Let's see all design units (from HLD/DLD) pertaining to a requirement, We'll have to manually create a requirements traceability matrix (and keep it up-to-date all the time)

Our requirement is that, is it possible to maintain requirements and track them throughout the release, using VSTS 2010?

i.e., Client requests-> Maintenance requirements (MR/SRS) -> Design units -> Test cases->release

Snapshot of the details:
Visual Studio 2010
SDLC Model: Waterfall

Waterfall, data in Word or Excel? Do you work for morons? -- my sympathy, I understand you perfectly.
