Deadlock detection utilities

Hi experts,

my application seems to deadlock under certain circumstances. I inspected every occurance of lock, but without finding anything that would produce a deadlock (No Monitor, Mutex nor Semaphore used).

As I often do in such situations, I visited my friend Google. He told me of Debug Inspector[^] and Afterburner[^]. Has anyone tried one of these tools?

I installed the former, but can't get it to work within my Visual Studio 2008 Express.

Is there a requirement for another edition of VS than Express?

Only the lock? This is not the only thread synchronization primitive, you know...

I didn't use Monitor, Mutex nor Semaphore. What else should I be looking for?
