Accessing Parallel port

My project is about the LDR(Light Dependent Resistor) connected to my Laptop, i use the Parallel to USB port cable..how do i recognize if my LDR is ON or OFF?..how can i communicate the LDR to my Laptop? Can anyone help me? i am using a Win 7 OS

Those articles are your only solutions. What did you think you were going to get? A single line of code to make everything easy?? That's not going to happen if you're using a parallel port, or any other port for that matter.
