In sharepoint, can't access controls in the code part

Hi,
I am new to SharePoint. I am trying to create a web part using visual studio. I can add controls in the .ascx page.Now I can't take that controls in the code part. But yesterday there is no problem for accessing the controls. Could you please help me to find out the reason behind it.

What version of SharePoint? What version of VS? What do you mean "take that controls in the code part"? You need to clarify the question before anyone can help.

without code is very hard to find the problem but I guess you miss runat="server"
