Encrypion/Decryption in C# web application

I have some private data that i need to encryp it in my website(not big data it is for example: Password,account balance....) but which one is better symmetric or asymmetric and which protocol is the more seccure and better
plz provide me bye the Encrypion/Decryption functions.
