control remote pc on network

i want to control remote pc like various function , shutdown , restart , start , terminate various process on remote pc over network.

remote pc has to install a application and server part access it.

can anyone plz provide me how to do this the basic one is either using socket or a centralized database but if i use db then there are larger access of db.

any other way to remote access pc with an application installed on remote pc..

i am still confused because if i have remote pc username and pass then it's all done if not then in that case..

actually i have developed a client server application and server is able to control client machine as soon as client program runs..
