I have used the below jquery code for blocking ui on pageload. But its not working. Please help.

Explain, "Not working". Is it not unblocking later or block is not applied. what exactly you get?

Assuming your blockUI does not work at all, try:

                    opacity: .5,

Since, you are trying to apply it when the HTML page is being constructed (in progress), accessing the body directly and applying blockUI might work.
