i did a client server chat programm but don't know how to compare the text in isear database.. dont know whether to use xml or database

are saying you are trying to attempt your project without doing any research of your own? just do a simple Google lookup on it and you will come up with something, once you have done some work on come back here with specific problems to ask. Don't expect people to do your project for you, otherwise what will you learn?

To find emotion, summarize the '!' marks and all different emoticons, with some weight factors... :-)

You just define your emotion patterns for each emotion and after that from chat text parse text and search for emotions from pre-defined scope.
