This is not related to MVC. You actually have two possibilities: use JQuery for really fancy popups (http://smashingspy.com/32-best-jquery-popup-window-dialog-box-example/[^]), or using plain old window object from javascript (http://www.quirksmode.org/js/popup.html[^])
