Want to take database Backup

I want to take database backup of previous 10 years records and create dummy database to store previous 8 years records to get if required any data.

What i want to know how many different way we can take backup of database.

I am knowing two ways create .bak files or copy ldf and mdf files if there any other way then kindly help me.

I've not tried this in SQL2005, but it works for 2008: Backing up an SQL Database in C#[^]
