.NET programs do not run on Android... ( as of now...)....

You could use C# with Mono for Android (VB.NET is probably yet not supported, see "Can I use VB.NET to develop applications using MonoDroid?" at Stack Overdlow[^].
Anyway I would suggest using Java for Android development.
