Calling a console application from a web application on a button click

HI All,

I want to call a console application from a web application. I want the console application to be called on my button click event. Please help me in doing the stuff.

How can I track the Process to be started and completed in this case?

I mean to say, I want to execute the console application that will import an excel sheet on a button click event of an web application. And when the import is successful I want to close the application instantly (not manually).

How this can be done? Please suggest.
