I have a vb.net application that gathers Purchase Order details and saves the data to an Access database. The user can elect to request an Authorisation on the Purchase Order and the application will send an e-mail to the Authoriser, who must then run the same application, view the Purchase Order details and click an 'Authorise' button which will then update the Access database and notify the requester by e-mail once again.

It would be ideal if the Authoriser could click a buton whilst still in Outlook 2010 to authorise the Purchase Order.
This, I imagine, would require a button somewhere in OutLook 2010 that would launch an application or macro that would update the Access databse with the authorisation details.

Is this possible, and where would I start to find out how to do it?

Any suggestions and guidance would be greatly appreciated.

What you'd need is an addin for Outlook. I found an article here on CP that you may find useful: Creating an Outlook 2010 Add-In[^]
