How do I implement locations on a map

I need help in implementing a map display of locations in a project. I have an ambulance request and response system. The ambulances are located in specific locations within a geographic area. I would like to display a map showing the locations with available ambulances so that clients can know available ambulances closest to them on the map so as to place a request.

What I have tried:

I already have the registered ambulances in the system.

Look at the Google Maps API, which is what many systems are already using.
