Hi,

We have an automation framework developed with UFT long back and been in use to test a legacy windows application build on .Net. We use microsoft excel till now, and due to some of the constraints, we need to check for excel alternatives that can work with UFT One. Is there anyone who currently uses UFT with other open source applications like LibreOffice, Apache OpenOffice, ...?

Can you tell me if this migration from Microsoft excel to other open source applications helped? Did you face any constraints or limited resources or lesser features compared to Excel? It would be nice to get some inputs on this topic.

What I have tried:

I am trying to use LibreOffice to test the compatibility but the execution got slower.

Given the response (or lack thereof) to your previous question on this subject, I suggest you try at the UFT web site.

I actually posted there in UFT forum. But, I am not getting any response. Hence, I decided to post here as well.

If success depends on the "size of the community", it must be obvious by now you're heading in the wrong direction.

Excel doesn't do the actual testing since that's not what Excel does. It can, however, be use as source data for the testing framework and storing of results.

You're going to have to ask the vendor of the UFT framework you're using to see if anything other than Excel is even supported.

Nobody here can answer that for you.
