Changing buffering settings in Windows Media Payer through vb.net

I've been trying to stream audio files using the Windows Media Player Active X control but have been having some issues with the stuttering at the beginning of the stream, Once the file has been fully buffered it is fine and doesn't stutter. However when playing the file from Windows Media Player it's self this doesn't occur, I have tried changing some settings but nothing has worked as of yet. Any help would be appreciated.
