Typical... and pathetic.
If your "idea" was rejected, use your brain and come up with something different for god's sake. If you don't start doing that NOW, then your future as a programmer is bleak (we don't need yet another dimwit in our midst), and you may as well consider another line of work that won't over-tax your inability to reason.
For what it's worth, online chat has been done, re-done, and re-done again - and again. In other words, your idea was rejected because it presents nothing new.
How about a simply auction site that allows sellers to configure their auction for
0) one-time sealed (secret) bids
1) Immediate sale (has one or more of the items in question), like ebay's "buy-it-now"
2) timed bidding cycle (like e-bay)
Allow the user to email the seller with questions, and have the site email both the seller and winning bidders
Allow the user to set a seller rating
This should exercise your "knowledge" of asp.net enough to warrant a decent grade.
BTW, don't ask me for details because I typically don't help people with their homework to this extent. Do the research, and write the code. In other words EARN your grade.
