hello experts,
i have installed sql server 2008 r2, its installed. when i opened it not showing me the server name, when i try 2 connect its shows me the ERROR:

A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)

urgent needed plz help

No it's not urgent at all. Since there is no question here, you are just going to have to do some good old fashioned troubleshooting.

"when i opened it": which program do you use for that purpose? SQL Server Management Studio?
Where does that program run? On the same computer with the SQL Server proper, or on a different computer in the same local network or on a computer somewhere else remote?

First and foremost make sure that the SQL Server services are running. Other reasons could be, incorrect connection string or some Firewall blockage.
