How to track user activity on website

We want to track all visitor activities for logged users so we can get better insight into visitor behavior and gather more data for each individual user.

What options are available for something like this that does not require us to add code to every single website page? Are there some existing libraries for this?

If you are using MVC then you can use filter API or else create a HTTPModule for this purpose.

Are you using .Net Membership provider or a custom provider?

Solution 1

You can add tracking code only to your master pages but I suggest creating a custom http module. It requirerequires more skill. You can start here:
