Hyper-V VM backup from host perspective

Hi,

I am working on one application which takes backup of Hyper-V virtual machine.
Using Hyper-V VSS writer for taking the snapshots for each volume.

Since, I am backing up a VM from the host perspective(i.e. without using agent inside-each VM), not able to view any of the VM's indivisual files.

So,Is it possible to back up a VM from the host perspective by transferring a VM's individual file and folders using traditional approach.
